  1. Hi,

I am getting in touch from BBC Radio 4’s Today Programme. We saw the brilliant story about David Shannon writing Howul in secret, and only told Bernardine Evaristo when the book was finished.

We would love to speak to David and Bernardine on the show tomorrow about this, and about Howul.

It would be with Martha Kearney between 0800-0900 and last about 5 minutes. We could do it on Skype, FaceTime or Zoom.

Please let me know if this would be possible?

    Many thanks and kind regards,
    Dan

  2. Hi,

My name is Favour Unoh. I’m a literary assistant at P English Literature (PEL). It’s a pleasure connecting with you, and I would like to introduce you to our literary organization.

Established in 2020, P English Literature is an art and literary organization officially registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission – RC 7923553. It was founded by Peter Okonkwo, whose literature works was in November of 2024, endorsed under Global Talent by Arts Council England as “Exceptionally Promising” in the field of literature. Since our inception, we have interviewed over 1000 authors from different parts of the world, including prominent and emerging ones, covering all genres of literature.

In 2023, we were recognized as the first-ever international BookTube show in Africa that feature authors from around the world. We have been a voice to authors seeking exposure for their works, and we promote literature through our extensive literary activities including organizing book festivals, book club meetings, author interviews, book reviews, literary competitions, feast of books and cultures events, opinion commentaries, writer’s conferences, open mics and a host of other literary activities. You can check samples of our interview with the renowned 13 million plus bestselling author of the holocaust survival story, The Tattooist of Auschwitz, by Heather Morris, and many more samples on our channel’s page.

I’m writing to you because we are currently looking for authors to get featured in the November/December’s Edition of Author Interview on our show. I’m curious to know if you would love to come on our show in an interview to talk about your book(s). If you are interested, you can respond to this message, and Kenny Elisha, our Head of Literary Assistants, will send you a detailed author interview invitation and a form to schedule an interview. You’ll get interviewed by our founder and host, Peter Okonkwo, or the co-host, Cyndi Brec, or both of them. While our primary interview is conducted via Zoom, you may, however, want to schedule a physical interview with Peter if you are located in the UK, or with Cyndi, if you’re in the United States.

I would like you to look our show up on YouTube by searching “P. English Literature” and let me know what you think of it. Plus, if you have any questions. Also, because the interviews on PEL are promotional interviews, we do encourage our featured guests to consider donating to support our literature course.

    ___________

DISCLAIMER: Kindly DECLINE if this invitation is not for you. We ask for donations because of some productional cost associated with hosting our interviews, as well as SEO optimization associated with pushing the interview to other readers’ channels after publication. Also, as a literary organization, we are responsible for funding some literary events and activities. Neither Peter Okonkwo nor Cyndi Brec is aware of my invitation message to you. This conversation will be moved to Kenny Elisha when you express interest in appearing on our show, and after submitting your author information, it will be passed on to our “literature vetter” for a second vetting stage before a date is finally scheduled. Please reply “Cancelation” if you have received this invitation more than twice. Reply “Already Featured” if you’ve appeared on our show in the past. Your response will help us edit our database. We would also appreciate it if you would be kind enough to subscribe to our channel.

If interested, please state in your response back to this email that you got this invitation from Favour Unoh.

    Thank you,
    Favour Unoh
    Literary Assistant V, PEL

  3. Hi David,

Your delightful sticker book captures the irresistible spark that has made the David series so beloved. UH OH DAVID feels alive with the exuberance of childhood, celebrating the moments when curiosity runs ahead of caution and everything becomes a playful adventure. The energy on each page carries the same warmth and humor that readers have cherished for years.

What makes this book shine is how it honors the mischievous spirit that children recognize in themselves. The small disasters, the playful defiance, the wide eyed innocence all speak to the universal experience of growing up. Readers do not just laugh at David. They see the lovable chaos of their own childhood reflected back at them.

I would love to help more families discover this joyful experience during the Christmas season when parents and teachers are looking for lighthearted books that feel both funny and heartfelt.

The main gap I see in your catalog is the limited visibility in seasonal discovery spaces for children’s humor titles. With only a small number of reviews, this book has immense potential that many holiday shoppers simply have not encountered yet.

Holiday placement support to position the book where parents browse for gifts
School and classroom outreach to spotlight the playful learning value
Family focused review gathering to increase credibility from real readers
Christmas themed engagement prompts that encourage parents to share moments with their kids
Retail discovery improvements that lift the title during December and January searches

If you would like, I can help expand its reach during the holiday campaign.

    Warm regards
    Allison B Costner

    1. Hi Allison. It’s nice to hear from you but, as you’ll see from what is on my website, I am not that David Shannon.I am a different David Shannon, author of the novel HOWUL!
